How long do you rinse your hair to get all the shampoo product out? I always end up with a gray cast.
Rinse your hair as long as possible between each wash. Use your fingers to comb through your grid to make sure that you don't feel any suds remaining. I like to use a handheld shower head for washing out all the product. It's been a game changer for me compared to when I didn't have one. I no longer get that gray cast anymore like I used to.
What do you use for the buildup? I have used a clarifying shampoo and it's still not helping to remove the lint.
Which clarifying shampoo are you using? You might need to try a different clarifying shampoo. Some of them work better than others. I wrote a blog post all about clarifying shampoo alternatives. Try one of those out. If you still can't get rid of the lint then you can try dying your locs (the ones that have really bad lint, usually around the perimeter). Go to a professional colorist who knows how to color locs specifically. I've actually had to do the same thing and it does work to make the lint look less obvious.
