Fall Decor in My Home

What’s the name of the new juicer you have?

What color do you have in your hair?

My colorist used two colors from the Redken line, Butter Cream (09GB) and Macchiato (05NW). I talk all about my hair color in my recent blog post, My Sisterlocks Hair Color.

Can I get extensions if my hair is super short?

@funsizedflightmode helped answer this question so I’ll share both of our answers.

@funsizedflightmode: You can get extensions over them! There are YouTube videos on this. Some people braid or two strand twist extension over them too, just be mindful not to put pressure on the roots with a heavy style.

@tashaonlock: yes you can get extensions, but just be careful with them and thoroughly do your research on them. Talk to people who have them to see if that would be the best decision for you or not. Talk to lots of different people to get different views because there’s a lot of opinions out there about extensions. So you’ll want to make sure your hair goals are in alignment with getting extensions.

Do I have to grow/cut out the relaxed hair first?

@funsizedflightmode: no! My cousin got her Sisterlocks installed and had some relaxed hair remaining. She had been transitioning for a few months though so some regrowth will help. Some consultants demanded she cut out the relaxed hair completely but her current lady didn't and they are flourishing. I think a couple YouTubers started mid transition too.

Can you take them out without cutting your hair?

You can, but it’s a long tedious process and can take a while to do so.

Where do you go to get your hair washed and retightened? I want to get my hair washed in Chicago or NYC.

I go to @justlockett in Indiana. But make sure you look out for my new series where I send sisterlocktician referrals who are in different locations straight to your inbox. So check your emails.
